What is Speech and Language Therapy (SLT)?

SLT helps individuals with communication, speech, language, and swallowing difficulties due to neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s, or brain injury.

What conditions do you support?

I provide therapy for neurological conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, brain injury, and dementia.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions can be held in your home, a care setting, work setting, café or online via teletherapy, depending on your needs and location.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can contact me directly to book an initial assessment.

How can I access LSVT LOUD?

You must have a recent report from Ear Nose and Throat service (within 6 months). Please liaise with your GP for a referral to the Ear Nose and Throat team.

Assessment & Therapy

What happens during the initial assessment?

I will assess your communication and/or swallowing abilities, discuss your goals, and create a tailored therapy plan.

How long does a session last?

Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes, but this may vary based on individual needs.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your goals and progress. We will regularly review and adjust your therapy plan. Therapy packages are offered following an initial appointment.

Do you provide exercises to do at home?

Yes, personalised exercises and strategies are provided to help you continue progress between sessions.

How do I book an appointment?

How much are sessions?

Prices are dependent on individual requirements. Please contact us on 07539966841 or info@novaspeechtherapy.co.uk to discuss prices. Payment is requested at the time of booking.

Do you accept private health insurance?

Currently, we don't deal directly with insurers. However, if you have private health insurance, you may be able to claim for reimbursement of costs with us. Please speak directly to your health insurance company about this.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours will be charged at the fee quoted for the relevant appointment.
